SUMMER DIYS!!! (Finally here, guys!)

So sorry it took this long. I had the back-to-he- back-to-school series to work on and my other blog, so things did get a little hectic. But it;s better late than never!

This week, I’m going to do one straight week of posts, just see how that turns out…

Today we are going to make two pairs of sunglasses and a halter top, so without further ado, lets get down to it.

IMG_2110

  1. Halter Top

The halter top is basically the easiest DIY here, and i even feel a little weird calling it a DIY. I think that it’s more of a hack. All you really want to do is take a tank top and simply cut the two straps right at the base so you have two strings that you can tie around your neck. Clean up the edges with an x-acto knife, and that’s that.

IMG_2112

2. Beaded Sunglasses

You will need some sunglasses, white glue and beads. Optionally, you can cover the arms in duct tape.

The Only Step. Put some white glue around the rims. While it is still wet, drop in some beads. Let dry, then sport stylishly. I didn’t want to be too extra so I just put some beads on one quarter of the area directly around the rims.

IMG_2111

3. Two Tone/Ombre Sunglasses

You will need two colors of paint, sunglasses, a bead and the optional duct taped arms. If you want to make them two toned, I’d recommend some nail tape.

Step One. Duct tape the arms (optional) and paint the rims a chosen base color. This is where you need to decide wether or not you want to do two-tone or ombre. I went with ombre.

Step Two. To do the two-toned look, put a piece of nail tape across half of the rim, not covering the lenses. You can take them out if you prefer. Simply paint above the nail tape and peel off for a crisp line.

To do the ombre, simply paint the top and let the brushstrokes blend into the base color.

Once your second color has dried, add a bead to one side to add some embellishment. Mine was two dolphins.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this, even though it was so freaking late! Remember to check out my second blog and follow both if you dont want to miss out on what I have in store for you guys next. I wish you luck with back to school, seeing as how doomsday is tomorrow. I think I’m going to do an expectations vs reality for the first day, after I’ve fully experienced the first day of grade eight. I can almost garuntee you that you’ll be laughing your behinds off.

Until next time,

-Tash

PS, who’s watching Guilty Party tomorrow? Who do you think took Emma’s diary?

Neat BTS Supplies for that ‘Doomsday’ That We Can’t Stop! (and the end of #TASHToSchool2017)

Hello! DOOMSDAY IS COMING!! Just joking. It’s only school. Then again, I’m going to go along calling that doomsday. But there is nothing we can do. At all. So I guess that’s that.

Guilty Party airs the first episode on YouTube tomorrow! Who else is going to be watching it? Let me know what character you guys are most looking forward to. I think JR is going to be kind of funny, and I think Charlie is going to end up being my favorite because she reminds me a little of myself.

Anyone see Taylor Swift’s new Look What You Made Me Do music video? She totally dissed the past versions of herself! I think she’s going all Selena Gomez on us, and I like the direction her Reputation album is going.

Anyways, let’s go into the DIYs before I talk you guys to death.

IMG_2078.JPG

  1. Watermelon Binder

You will need a binder or notebook, paint and a piece of white paper

Step One. Paint a streak of green down the side of your white paper. Yo don’t need to worry about getting it perfect, because it will still look cute even if it’s not perfect. Leaving a white space, use some pale pink paint for the rest to be the edible part of the watermelon. Let it dry

Step Two. Use a black marker or paint pen to draw on the seeds. Glue to your notebook or binder to finish. I rimmed mine in duct tape just to make it look more polished.

IMG_2079

2. Tumblr Disney Emoji Dividers

You will need four printouts of a Tumblr background, five Mickey Mouse emojis and five pixel speech bubbles reading whatever is going in each tab.

This one is really simple, yet so freaking adorable.

The Only Step. Print off your Tumblr backgrounds. Cut out the emojis and glue one to the side of each page so that they look like dividers. It’s kind of hard to explain, but Jess Herz did Pokemon dividers in one of her Fandom School Supplies videos. A ot of YouTubers have actually done the emoji dividers, so there’s bound to be someone who explains it better than me. Glue the labels to the tabs and then you want to hole ouch the pages and insert them into a binder.

TIP- To save both paper and printer ink, you can use scrapbook paper from Micheal’s or some other craft store.

IMG_2080

3. Eyes Binder/Notebook

All credit goes to Sea Lemon on YouTube.

You will need watercolors and paper. Also a binder or notebook.

The Only Step. Paint different types of eyes on your paper. some are open, some are closed.Use variety. Once you’re happy, let dry and add some diagonal stripes in the background. Glue to the binder or notebook to finish.

IMG_2082

4. Stylish Pencils- Three Types

You will need pencils and acrylic paint. Also some cute quotes for the pencils.

Example One-Solid Color

Paint your pencil the selected color. It may take a few coats for it to look the way you want it to. Once it is dry, top it off with a fandom or just generally cute quote. I mat one that said ‘can we taco’, one that said ‘you’re unstoppable’ and a sharpie with some lyrics to Dollhouse, but the pink one shown above is one of my favorites.

It has a Ben Kowalewicz quote that reads ‘the teapot code’, which comes from the MTV ‘Diary Of Billy Talent’ special, when they were in London and his girlfriend made him go looking for a teapot set for some of their friends who were getting married, and he couldn’t find it, so he made a joke about it to the camera guy, and said ‘[bleep] the Da Vinci Code, It’s the Teapot Code!’

Example Two- Ombre

You will also need a metallic marker

For the ombre pencil, first paint it a base color. I found that black works the best. Then, take  a metallic marker and just color a streak that covers the top third of the pencil. Then, if you want to, you can top it off with a short quote or a word. I wrote ‘Muggles’ because why not!

Example Three- Paint Drip

Paint your pencil a base color. Cover the eraser area with some tape. Then, you’ll want to open your bottle of paint and dip the top third of your pencil in the paint. Pull out and place upright in a cup. Allow the paint to drop.  Once dry, you can either leave it like that, or add a quote. I added the quote, ‘Goodbye Ghost’, said once by the amazing Ben Kowalewicz.

IMG_2081.JPG

5. Holographic Collage Binder

You will need tinfoil and magazines. Of course, if you have holographic paper, it will probably work better. And a binder or notebook would help.

Step One. Cut your tinfoil or holographic material to a size that will fit on your notebook or binder. Then cut out some hexagons from the magazines. I also cut out some other shapes. I have a few diamonds and some close cut shapes.

Step Two. Glue to the page in any sort of way that you are pleased with. Cut off the excess and apply to the notebook or binder.

IMG_2083

6.(Fake) Designer Pencilcase

You will need a Ziploc bag, a patterned piece of paper, song lyrics and duct tape.

Step One. Cut your Ziploc back to the size that you need. Cut out your pattern and glue i the middle. I did one pencilcase rimming it in duct tape first, and it looked a little more polished, but it looks polished either way, so I don’t think it matters that much.

Step Two. Glue your song lyrics in the middle. For the pink pencilcase, I used lyrics from Billy Talent’s ‘Afraid Of Heights’ ad I rimmed the lyrics in pink duct tape, with some blak duct tape running underneath, but for the pizza pencilcase, where I used lyrics from Melanie Martinez’s ‘Mad Hatter’, I gave it a cartoony box feel. Ad your stationary inside  to finish

Bonus Material: First Day Lookbook

Well, it’s supposed to be a lookbook, but i didn’t have a chance to take photos, so i’m just going to explain what I’m going to wear.

I’m going to wear some ripped jeans from Bluenotes, an AC/DC t-shirt, also from Bluenotes and a plaid flannel, from, you guessed it, Bluenotes. To accessorize, I’m simply going to wear a cat ears headband from Ardene and some wedge-heel sandals from Soft-Moc.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post and that these DIYs will definitely help you guys through school. Remember to like and follow my blog to support me and male sure you don’t miss any other great posts and content from me. For the last time before doomsday,

Summer Room Decor pt.1: Pastel Vibes

The summer is actually boring me to half-death right now. I have only journaled and listened to a weird mix of Cage the Elephant, Billy Talent and AC/DC using CDs i borrowed from my dad. Ha. I was so busy the last few months that i never got around to spring room decor and fashion advice. Sorry! To make up for it, I’m doing a two-part room decor. The Christmas haul has been discontinued, because July is too late to finish it. This post is more spring decor, but can show the pastel pink side of the summer. It should really be called flamingo vibes, but oh well? Let’s get started!

IMG_1733

  1. Floral Box

You will need a wooden box, acrylic paint and a small hand mirror.

Step One. Paint the box a base color. I used a pale blue. Next, what you want to do is the rose. It’s kind of difficult to explain. Paint a pink circle and wait for it to dry. Then, using red, just paint a center and some curved lines. It’s better if you actually watch a video that explains it. JENerationDIY did a floral letter DIY where she’s definitely going to have a better tutorial.

Step Two. Let it dry. Open the box and glue the hand mirror to the center of the underside of the lid. This is totally optional, i just thought it looked really cute.

IMG_1678

2. Pom-Pom Pillow

You will need a white pillowcase, a sharpie or iron-on paper and yarn.

Step One. Smooth out your pillowcase and write your quote. If you don’t want to freehand with a Sharpie like I did, you can totally use iron-on transfer paper and just follow the directions on the package. Because I am in love with the new ‘Beauty and the Beast’, I decided to use a quote from the song ‘Tale As Old As Time’.

Step Two. Make the pom-poms. To make the pom-pom, simply wrap the yarn around any object multiple times until you get a size that looks about right. Tie in the middle. You want this tie to be incredibly tight. Use scissors and cut the ends away. Fluff it up a little so that it looks like a pom-pom. You can make as many or as little as you’d like. Now you just need to attach to the pillow.

IMG_1593

3. Movie Quote Heart

You will need paint, sharpie, colored pens and cardboard

Step One. Pick a movie quote. mine was more of a book quote, but it did come form a movie that was based off a book. Call me obsessed, but it’s a low-key ‘Outsiders’ reference, and my favorite Dallas Winston quote. Cut a heart out of cardboard and paint it any color. I used a vibrant pink.

Step Two. Once it dries, write your quote on with Sharpie and colored pens, then glam it  up a little bit with sketches of hearts and mandalas and such. It looks really cute on your wall.

IMG_1734

4. TV Show Quote Coasters

You will need bar coasters, acrylic paint and printouts.

Step One. In Microsoft Word, or WordPad or such, Make four boxes. Go on Google and find some cute background images. Put them in the boxes. Now, simply type quotes from your favorite TV Shows on the square and print the page out. If you already have paper, like this really cute scrapbook paper MissMikaylaG had with all these quotes on there, you can totally use that.

Step Two. Paint the underside of the bar coasters and wait for them to dry. Glue the quote square on top and trim to fit. You may also want to cover the top in some of sort of sealant just to make sure it doesn’t get ruined, right!

Thank you so much for supporting my blog! To quote Cage the Elephant, I don’t do it for the glory, i don’t do it for the money, i don’t do it for the fame. I blog because i simply want to share my love of DIYs with you guys, so it would mean a lot if you clicked like and follow because helps me to know that people like my blog. Thank you so much,

Quick Craft: DIY Summer Polariod Bea Miller Photo Chain

TWO MORE WEEKS OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Was that a little much? Recently I’ve started listening to Bea Miller, and have gotten hooked on her music. Like seriously, it’s really good. My favorite Bea Miller songs are Dracula, Young Blood and Open Your Eyes. While a lot of her music is from 2014, it is really good and i like the messages that Young Blood and Fire N Gold send out. So i’d google these.

In honor of the summer, i wanted to do something with Tumblr photos and thanks to LaurDIY’s Celeb Trends video which cued me to search ‘celeb diys’ on YouTube and The Haute Pink Diary who made the Bea Miller Inspired DIYs video. I wanted to do something with polaroids just because and then i realized that they played a main part in the Fire N Gold music video, so i thought that i’d do something like this. Why don’t i stop talking and let’s start the DIY!

You will need Tumblr summer photos (found online), a polaroid template (also online), tape and black yarn/string.

Step One. Gather your photos. A simple google search can help with that. I googled ‘tumblr summer photos’ and ‘tumblr summer nights’. i also found my polaroid template online and put it with the photos in a Word document. Print the photos and cut them out.

Step Two. Bea Miller song lyrics. I just looked these up on AZ Lyrics and wrote ones that i thought fit with my polaroids. If you know what a polaroid looks like, then you know that the bottom part is bigger than the other three sides. That’s where the lyrics should be written. Cut a long piece of your black thread or yarn that covers the length of the wall you want to hang this up on. Tape your photos the the string/yarn and hang. If you have clothespins, you can also put them up like that, but i didn’t. It kind of takes the Tumblr away from it, but oh well. Taping it up is hard. Try not to let go. It fell on me like 5 times, soooo…..

Thank you guys for reading my blog! Let me know if you guys want me to do more artist/band themed DIYs. I really hope that you guys like Bea  Miller as well. Remember to hit the follow button so that you don’t miss out. Stay Weird/Normal/Human/Gold…. Pick one of the following or whatever suits you because you need to stay true to you.

Winter Fashion Advice (Yes, it is now Spring and I am late doing this)

Yeah…. as the title says, it’s Spring and i’m late doing this. Oh well. Spring is still freezing for some of us, so these outfits may still come in handy, and there’s always next year. Most are compatible for Spring anyways…

IMG_1373

  1. Santa Baby (Not Compatible for Spring)

For this look, i got an adorable sweater from Bluenotes on clearance for $9.99. So good. right? I paired it with some patterned leggings and combat boots for a cute look. You don’t need to use a Christmas sweater if it’s January or you do not celebrate Christmas.

IMG_1375

2. Baseball Darling

You will need patterned fur-lined leggings, a baseball tee and combat boots. WARNING: FABULOUS OUTFIT AHEAD!!  Paired with this outfit can be instead of combat boots, knee high riding boots or running shoes to make it multi-seasonal.

IMG_1376

3. Blouses and Tees

For this outfit, I used a Halloween t-shirt from Bluenotes (you probably guessed that), a blouse from Justice (HA! I did not say Bluenotes!) and some Urban Star jeggings. This outfit is at it’s best with knee-high riding boots.

Thanks for reading my blog. Shout out once again to all those who read my blog, i am so thankful! Remember to press the follow button on the homepage so that you don’t miss out and leave a like for more Fashion Advice Posts.! Post soon.

Winter Room Decor!

Hey guys! Winter is almost over, thank Mother Nature for that! Then I realized that i haven’t done a seasonal room decor post yet. So, for the last little bit of winter, and of course next year! On a side note, a great movie to watch over March Break is “Non-Stop”, which is a Liam Neeson psych thriller about an  Air Marshall who gets cryptic messages from someone on the plane. Its really good and you would never expect the ending.

IMG_1098

1.Hot Cocoa Mug Desk Organizer

Do you have a messy desk? Do you need somewhere to put your candy? If so, this DIY is perfect for you!

You will need a tin can or other container, duct tape and plain computer paper.

Step One. Cover your container in duct tape. If you have a solid color duct tape, you can draw a decal on it. I decided to draw in the Harry Potter glasses and lightning bolt scar. Cut a circle out of your computer paper. Glue to the bottom of your tin can.

Step Two. Cut a strip of paper. Curl so that it looks like the handle on a mug. Glue to the side.

IMG_1354

2.Olaf Wall Canvas

Contrary to the name, this is not really a canvas, but paper glued onto cardboard.

You will need a piece of cardboard and a printout of Olaf. I keep this up year round!

The Only Step. Print off your Olaf picture. I stretched mine to the margins in Word so that i had some white to fold over the sides. Cut your cardboard to fit the photo. Glue the picture down and fold the white over the sides to finish.

IMG_1355

3. Hot Cocoa Sign

This is probably the simplest DIY in this post.

All you need is three paint markers and a piece of paper

The Only Step. Use one paint marker to make the border. Use another to write “Hot Cocoa, Marshmallows and Warm Hugs”. On either side of the “and”, use your last paint marker to draw little arrows to finish.

IMG_1150

4. Henna Fan

This is another really simple DIY, and you can use it in just about any season. It is really relaxing to draw and i have so many of them!

You will need paper and a black marker

The Only Step. Turn your paper over to the corner. Make a black circle and start doodling outwards. To draw a henna pattern (or Mandala as they are commonly called), just try and make intricate but simple petal shapes or triangles and such and let the relaxation guide you.

Thanks so much for reading this! Like for more seasonal room decor and remember to press the follow button on my homepage! Huge shout out to my American viewers! Thanks for reading my blog, you guys are amazing! Post soon!

5 Books to Read over Winter Break+ DIY Quote Bookmark

It’s getting colder and you want to stay inside literally all day.  What makes that better than a book? Not much. Only hot chocolate, sugar cookies and “The Librarians”, “Death and Paradise” or “Fresh off the Boat” are what I can think of. I love to cozy up with a fluffy blanket and a book with the fireplace on while the snow blazes around outside. Then again, who doesn’t like that? Here are five books and a DIY that will help you get through your winter break.

jingle.jpg

1. Jingle by Gordon Korman

Griffin Bing is the man with a plan. Even he couldn’t get out of this one. When his friend Logan Kellerman signs them all up to be elves in the holiday spectacular, even the biggest plan can’t get them out of it. But when a blackout results in the theft of the Star of Prague, they are the ones blamed for it. If they can’t find the Star soon, it could be the least wonderful time of the year, behind bars. See my opinion on Swindle here.

dashing-through-the-snow

2. Dashing Through the Snow by Mary and Carol Higgins Clark

A holiday mystery from bestselling mother-daughter duo Mary and Carol Higgins Clark. In Branscombe, New Hampshire, the town is preparing for the first annual Festival of Joy. Four employees at Conklin’s market buy a lottery ticket. The next Friday, Glenda, Marion, Tommy and Ralph become millionaires. But wait, what happened to Duncan Graham, the fifth employee who at the last minute decided not to play? Did he decide to buy the ticket in the next town over that is also worth millions? Sounds like a case for Alvirah Meehan and Regan Reilly!

loot

3. Loot by Jude Watson

Okay, not a Christmas book. But definitely a book that will get you through all the boring holiday parties with non-stop 12-year-old tweenagers antics. After his father, world-renowned cat burglar Alfie McQuinn falls to his death from a rooftop in Amsterdam, March is sent to an  orphanage for troubled kids, he finds his sister Jules. When he finds out that there are three diamonds to be found that are worth millions, the orphanages children set out to both find and steal them. the current only other book is Sting.

13-gifts

4. 13 Gifts by Wendy Mass

Like all stupid mistakes, Tara Brennan’s involved a goat. More specifically, trying to steal a stuffed goat from her principle. After finding this out, Her mother sends her to the sleepy and quiet town of Willow Falls. There she meets new friends and strange people.  Like Angelina DiAngelo, who tasks her to find a list of thirteen bizarre things in time for her thirteenth birthday. Thirteen in this case is not the world’s most unluckiest number.

mistletoe-mystery

5. Nancy Drew #169: The Mistletoe Mystery by Carolyn Keene

Bess and Nancy are decorating Albemarle’s department store for the holidays. When some expensive Elle-Louise party dresses are stolen from WAVE, the young adult department, Bess’s Bestie (try saying that five times fast!) Ali Marie is accused of it and fired. Nancy, Bess and George are once again, on the case.

The DIY: Quote Bookmark

A really simple DIY. All you need is a piece of tissue box and a marker.

The Only Step. Find a quote that you like. One that i used was “He stole my pizza! He really is evil!” -Ezekiel Jones, The Librarians and the Apple of Discord. Write on to the bookmark and finish.

I hope that you enjoy my selections and that you are saved from absolute boredom over your winter break. Whenever it is. Do not forget to press the follow button so that you do not miss any books, crafts or DIYs! Talk to you later,

Fall Fashion Advice! :)

Hullo there! Like the British that I tried there? Anyhoo… who likes fashion? I have some great Fall Fashion advice to wear for the last little segment of the season. There are three looks I will show you today. If you like any DIYs that do not have links to a post, let me know if you would like instructions in a post format later in time as to how you create it. Let us begin!

img_1086

1.Trendy Shopping Luv’

For this look, I paired a graphic tee with a denim jacket and a pair of black jeans. I paired it with a pair of Adidas and a straw sidebag (I do not actually think that that is a word) from the Bahamas which I used to store a duct tape wallet and some candy lip balm.

You can buy sidebags at Justice and Old Navy.

img_1087

 2.Athletic Darling

Can I start by screaming I MADE THE CRICKET TEAM!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 😀 Do I seem too happy about that? For this outfit, I used a solid black tank top that i bought at Old Navy, a pair of purple Reebok track pants and a pink Aeropostale zip up sweater. If you do not have an Aeropostale sweater like mine, any sweater that says “Athletic divison” of somthing like that works just fine as well. I paired this with a duct tape water bottle and a galaxy tote bag to hold all my gear.

img_1088

3. Cozy Sweetheart

This look is for days when you do not feel like doing anything at all but want to stay warm and stylish. For this look I used a heavy Bluenotes knit sweater over a solid magenta tank top from Old Navy and a pair of super-warm leggings that were also from Bluenotes. I threw on a necklace from Ardene, but any necklace you have, or even no necklace will work just fine. If you are just lounging about, you can go barefooted, but if you are going out, i would recommend a pair of knee-high boots.

That’s my fall fashion advice! Stay tuned as I will be posting more fashion advice soon. And I mean really soon. If you would like to see more fashion advice posts, just press the like button down where the comment section is. Remember to press the follow button on the homepage so that you do not miss any of what i have to say. Talk to ya soon!
