SUMMER DIYS!!! (Finally here, guys!)

So sorry it took this long. I had the back-to-he- back-to-school series to work on and my other blog, so things did get a little hectic. But it;s better late than never!

This week, I’m going to do one straight week of posts, just see how that turns out…

Today we are going to make two pairs of sunglasses and a halter top, so without further ado, lets get down to it.

IMG_2110

  1. Halter Top

The halter top is basically the easiest DIY here, and i even feel a little weird calling it a DIY. I think that it’s more of a hack. All you really want to do is take a tank top and simply cut the two straps right at the base so you have two strings that you can tie around your neck. Clean up the edges with an x-acto knife, and that’s that.

IMG_2112

2. Beaded Sunglasses

You will need some sunglasses, white glue and beads. Optionally, you can cover the arms in duct tape.

The Only Step. Put some white glue around the rims. While it is still wet, drop in some beads. Let dry, then sport stylishly. I didn’t want to be too extra so I just put some beads on one quarter of the area directly around the rims.

IMG_2111

3. Two Tone/Ombre Sunglasses

You will need two colors of paint, sunglasses, a bead and the optional duct taped arms. If you want to make them two toned, I’d recommend some nail tape.

Step One. Duct tape the arms (optional) and paint the rims a chosen base color. This is where you need to decide wether or not you want to do two-tone or ombre. I went with ombre.

Step Two. To do the two-toned look, put a piece of nail tape across half of the rim, not covering the lenses. You can take them out if you prefer. Simply paint above the nail tape and peel off for a crisp line.

To do the ombre, simply paint the top and let the brushstrokes blend into the base color.

Once your second color has dried, add a bead to one side to add some embellishment. Mine was two dolphins.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this, even though it was so freaking late! Remember to check out my second blog and follow both if you dont want to miss out on what I have in store for you guys next. I wish you luck with back to school, seeing as how doomsday is tomorrow. I think I’m going to do an expectations vs reality for the first day, after I’ve fully experienced the first day of grade eight. I can almost garuntee you that you’ll be laughing your behinds off.

Until next time,

PS, who’s watching Guilty Party tomorrow? Who do you think took Emma’s diary?

What to Wear to Yoga Class!!

Yoga. Relaxing. Therapeutic. Good for Athletes. What’s not to like? Exactly. Ever have that problem where you simply can’t decide what to wear to your yoga/fitness class? Never fear, Books, Crafts and DIYs is here! That sounded so stupid…

IMG_1441

For my yoga class, i wore simple Ardene Move capris and an Old Navy Active top that says “Fierce” down the front. I tied my hair up with a glittery hair tie and used one off my many DIY Running Headbands.

IMG_1440

How do you get everything to and from class? If you’ve been doing a rather vigorous workout and are all covered in sweat, you obviously do not want to go home in the same clothes. In another bag, have your Emergency Kit, a hairbrush (sweat makes hair unruly), a water bottle, a change of clothes and either food, money to buy food or gift cards to food places. Bring coupons too. If you are still hunting for the perfect bag, i have found one! The DIY Galaxy Tote Bag! A super stylish and out of this world option.

Winter Fashion Advice (Yes, it is now Spring and I am late doing this)

Yeah…. as the title says, it’s Spring and i’m late doing this. Oh well. Spring is still freezing for some of us, so these outfits may still come in handy, and there’s always next year. Most are compatible for Spring anyways…

IMG_1373

  1. Santa Baby (Not Compatible for Spring)

For this look, i got an adorable sweater from Bluenotes on clearance for $9.99. So good. right? I paired it with some patterned leggings and combat boots for a cute look. You don’t need to use a Christmas sweater if it’s January or you do not celebrate Christmas.

IMG_1375

2. Baseball Darling

You will need patterned fur-lined leggings, a baseball tee and combat boots. WARNING: FABULOUS OUTFIT AHEAD!!  Paired with this outfit can be instead of combat boots, knee high riding boots or running shoes to make it multi-seasonal.

IMG_1376

3. Blouses and Tees

For this outfit, I used a Halloween t-shirt from Bluenotes (you probably guessed that), a blouse from Justice (HA! I did not say Bluenotes!) and some Urban Star jeggings. This outfit is at it’s best with knee-high riding boots.

Thanks for reading my blog. Shout out once again to all those who read my blog, i am so thankful! Remember to press the follow button on the homepage so that you don’t miss out and leave a like for more Fashion Advice Posts.! Post soon.

DIY Keychains!

My parents just gave me a set of keys!!! To make sure that I would not lose them (something i did on the very first day I had them), I decided to make some really creative and unique key chains that I knew nobody else would have. I came up with three really creative ideas that worked out really well. So, do you guys want to hear them? I’m going to assume so because you are reading this post.

img_1198

  1. TV Show Keychains

I love to watch TV, don’t you? Like most people, I have favorites. Some of mine include “The Librarians”, “Stranger Things”, “Death in Paradise” and BBC’s “Class”. To save some money and grief (you can’t find things for some shows anywhere!), i decided that i was going to make them myself.

You will need string or a jump ring, cardstock or paperboard, clear tape, patterned duct tape and printouts of TV show logos

Step One. Select some TV show logos and paste them into a Word file. Print

Step Two. Cut out a piece of cardstock or paperboard (the cardboard from cereal boxes) and cover in duct tape. Punch a hole in the top.

Step Three. Tape on your logo. Thread a string or a jump ring through the hole. Attach to your key to finish

img_1199

2. Tumblr Inspired: Pixel Speech Bubble Keychains

I love pixel speech bubbles. They are totally awesome. When i made keycahins, i just had to have some.

You will need pixel speech bubbles with sassy sayings (ex. only Librarians can touch my keys, the sass is strong with this one, excuse me while i fangirl and don’t let anyone tell you your not a Unicorn), clear tape and string

Step One. Print and cut out your speech bubbles. Cut a length of string that you desire.

Step Two. Thread one end of the string through the hole on your key or the jump ring its attached to and then put the two ends on the blank side of the speech bubble. Cover both sides in tape to finish.

img_1200

3. Quote Keychain

I just love inspirational quotes! Everybody does, right? I used a quote from a Fireflight song called “Unbreakable” for this DIY. Forget the fear/its just a crutch/that tried to hold you back and turn your dreams to dust/all you need to do is just/ trust – Fireflight, Unbreakable.

You will need duckling tape (mini duct tape or washi tape), string and a quote printout.

Step One. Cut tou your quote and rim in duct tape. Leave the tape at the top open.

Step Two. Thread one end of the string through the jump ring or hole in the key and connect both ends to the tape. Fold the tape over and cut off the excess

I hope you guys enjoy this DIY and that you will press the follow button on my homepage so that you will be alerted of new posts and won’t miss out! Enjoy life and /i will see you next time on Books Crafts and DIYs!

Christmas Haul-Part 1-Clothes and Fashion

Hello again. Christmas was not that long ago. Merry Belated Christmas by the way. Today i will be doing a Christmas inspired haul. This will be in multiple parts so that it is sorted out better and not all cluttered into one giant post. Part 1 is clothes and fashion, part 2 will be books and part 3 will be other. Just as soon as i figure out how to categorize some things. Lets begin!

move-capri

  1. Ardene Move Capri

This comfortable and stylish workout pant from Ardene’s Move collection goes to about an inch below the knee but could go all the way down depending on what size you buy. Mine are just intended to be that one inch below the knee, but I’m not complaining. They are great for playing cricket, jogging, doing judo or sitting and watching “The Librarians” 🙂

la-vie-en-rose

2. La Vie en Rose pajamas

Great for lounging and doing nothing! These pajamas are so incredibly comfortable! What i really like about the store’s pajama section is that it is all mix-and-match, so you can create your own pairs. You have a lot of creativity there

vampurr tee.jpeg

3.Bluenotes Vampurr T-Shirt

This is a Halloween shirt from Bluenotes, AKA the best store known to teenage girls in Canada. It is a  really comfy shirt bedazzled with a vampire cat and the word “vampurr” underneath. A cross between a vampire and the sound a cat makes.

img_1178

 4.Justice “Class President Material” Tee

This adorable $12 “Style Buy” is adorned with a cute puppy wearing glasses, and the caption in a thought bubble. It is sooo adorable, but i don’t plan on ever being a class president.

fantastic-beasts-tshirt

5.Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them T-Shirt

Hot Topic. That is all i need to say. The Pop Culture and Music store is filled with licensed apparel, patches and Band Merch. I go there specifically for the Harry Potter and Disney stuff.  This is all that needs to be said. I LOVE this t-shirt and i can;t wait until my mom takes me to go see the movie. I heard that its good. NO SPOILER ALERTS IN THE COMMENTS PLEASE!!!  Yeah. If you were even thinking about doing that, just don’t.

move-shorts

6.Ardene Move Shorts

These shorts, like the capris at the beginning, are by Ardene’s workout line, Move. They are really comfortable and go down to just above the knee. Great for whatever sport you do or just going to the mall and shopping at Bluenotes:)

img_1181

7. Kirkland Signature Girls Leggings

You may associate Kirkland with food, but they are actually a brand owned by Costco who make a wide variety of things. This 2-pack of leggings is incredibly comfortable and stylish. They can only  be found at Costco, so no membership, no leggings.

trackpants-gryffindor

8.Gryffindor Track Pants

Hot Topic, again. I am really starting to like that store. These simple track pants are rimmed in yellow and red and the left pant leg is emblazoned withGRYFFINDOR down the side in yellow athletic block letters. (Pardon my enthusiasm and obsession)

img_1179

9.Justice “One Smart Cookie” Longer-Length Tee

I am one smart cookie. This t-shirt, however, makes it literal, The top is adorned with a simple graphic of a cookie reading a book. If i were a cookie, that would be me.

img_1173

10. TASC Bamboo Fiber Sweater

This sweater is super soft and made with bamboo fiber by TASC. The pinkish hue is not as bright as seen in this photo, but more of a toned down coral. It is incredibly comfy and very versatile.

justice-shorts

11. Justice Mesh “Style Buy” Shorts

These comfy black shorts are what Justice calls a “Style Buy”, which means that  it is a great product for an even better price. I have multiple pairs of these shorts and they are all super comfortable. They are great for basically anything. Shopping, a cricket match, shopping, Watching “The Librarians” and “Relic Hunter” and did I mention, shopping.

justice-leggings

12. Justice Leggings

These pale pink leggings are perfect. Super Comfortable and perfect for anything. Heck, I wore them with a solid black blouse to my grandmothers house for Christmas dinner, and i looked absolutely bootifal.

img_1172

13. Reebok Track Pants

These are super comfy, super warm track pants from Costco. Well, they’re Reebok, but Costco was supplied with them. Yeah. That’s all I have to say.

img_1166

14. Aztec Wallet

This is a large, stylish wallet from Dollarama, surprisingly. It holds all my gift cards and has room for so much more!

img_1175

15. Justice Photoreal New York Long-Sleeve

This long-sleeve has blocks of pictures of New York. It is described as a “photoreal” top and is a “Style Buy”

img_1191

16. Ariposa Cosmetics Lipstick+Lip Gloss set

These were a gift from my cousin Joshua. The set contains one pale pink lipstick and matching lip gloss. They are actual makeup and not just cheapy-cheap stuff from Dollarama or that rip off Barbie kit things.

img_1189

17. Witch, Don’t Kill my Vibe Quarter-Sleeve from Bluenotes

This quarter sleeve is from Bluenotes. It is their Halloween collection which consisted of their Vampurr t-shirt and one that says “you aren’t my boo”. It was about $16.99. Don’t ask how i know how much my gifts cost.

IMG_1192.JPG

18. Urban Kids Leggings

urban Kids is so not my store, but i don’t think my Oma knew that. Regardless of where they are from, these leggins are super stylish and super comfy.

quidditch-tshirt

19. Gryffindor Quidditch Captain Quarter-Sleeve

You know why i love this so much. I am a die hard Harry Potter fan, and Hot Topic is my zone! For “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” and “Stranger Things” as well, mind you. This shirt proudly proclaims the wearer that they are the Captain of whatever team they choose. Hot Topic has one for each house.

img_1190

20. Harry Potter Cat Baseball Quarter-Sleeve

This Bluenotes Quarter-Sleeve Baseball tee is one of my absolute faves. It shows Harry as a cat riding on a Meowbus instead of a Nimbus. Instead of Harry Potter, his name is Hairy Purrter! BEST. SHIRT. EVER. I saved the best for last!

#LifeHack: Duct Tape Spike Bracelet

Hello again! I am back with another #LifeHack for you guys! I always see these really nice pieces of jewelry at like Aeropostale or Justice but when i look at the price tag, suddenly they are not actually that nice. So I took about a book from the library on how to make various duct tape fashion items, which is how I discovered the Potato Chip bag Tote.

And there is actually a funny story to that. Hahaha. The expiry date on the chips was actually my birthday! Hahaha. Now back to this. You will need two kinds of duct tape, lined paper and scotch tape.

Step One. Cut little spikes out of the lined paper. You can use any scrap paper or no paper at all, but I like to have a base. Cover in alternating colors of duct tape.

Step Two. Cut a thin-ish strip of duct tape. Lay down your peices how you would like your bracelet to be on top. Make sure they are secured and wrap around your wrist. Secure with a small piece of scotch tape. **Note that over time, the scotch tape will lose stickiness and you will need to replace it**

Thanks for reading this post. In case i don’t post before Christmas, let me say merry Christmas now. Merry Christmas! Please like if you would like to see more #LifeHack posts and don’t forget to look at some of my other great posts. Plewase follow using the button on the homepage to enure that you do not miss out. Athletic Fashion Advice + What to bring to your sporting match

Hello again! Long time, no talk! Welcome back to Books, Crafts and DIYs! As I was telling you back in Fall Fashion Advice 🙂, I has made the cricket team. Sorry, I have made the cricket team. There Naajaki! It’s proper grammar! So. That was weird. Don’t lie. ‘Twas very weird. Please just let us forget about that. So anyhoo, I made the school cricket team on Thursday after two days of tryouts and nearly a week of hard deliberations from the coaches and the gym teacher. Now that I have made the team, I intend to take things seriously. And i am going to help my faithful viewers who might also be in this situation. Here are some tips and tricks of the athletics trade! 🙂

img_1090

Outfits

For a sport, what you need is something versatile. That meaning that you can waer it for pretty much anything. Athletic shorts and tank tops usually do the trick. You can feild, bat, bowl and scorekeep in these. If you need to wear a jersey that is like, five billion times too big, just tie it up over your tank top.

img_1091

Pamper Me Bag

After a game, you’re all hot and sweaty and smell bad. You need to pamper your self. Be your perfect self once again. You just gave the team your all and now you need to wash up. In my bag, I have fragrance mist that I covered in a candy wrapper the same way i did my candy lip balms. i also have a Christmassy lotion and some hair ties in a small potato chip bag tote.

img_1092

Pack It All In

To pack all your accessories away (and a good pair of Adidas), simply use a large, fashionable bag. I used my galaxy tote bag, but you can use anything you have lying around.

img_1108

 Bonus Material

Welcome to the bonus material. Today’s bonus material is a DIY Duct Tape Water Bottle. You will need a metal water bottle and duct tape. The instructions are pretty self explanatory. All you need to do is layer different strips of patterned duct tape around the bottle.

Fall Fashion Advice! :)

Hullo there! Like the British that I tried there? Anyhoo… who likes fashion? I have some great Fall Fashion advice to wear for the last little segment of the season. There are three looks I will show you today. If you like any DIYs that do not have links to a post, let me know if you would like instructions in a post format later in time as to how you create it. Let us begin!

img_1086

1.Trendy Shopping Luv’

For this look, I paired a graphic tee with a denim jacket and a pair of black jeans. I paired it with a pair of Adidas and a straw sidebag (I do not actually think that that is a word) from the Bahamas which I used to store a duct tape wallet and some candy lip balm.

You can buy sidebags at Justice and Old Navy.

img_1087

 2.Athletic Darling

Can I start by screaming I MADE THE CRICKET TEAM!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 😀 Do I seem too happy about that? For this outfit, I used a solid black tank top that i bought at Old Navy, a pair of purple Reebok track pants and a pink Aeropostale zip up sweater. If you do not have an Aeropostale sweater like mine, any sweater that says “Athletic divison” of somthing like that works just fine as well. I paired this with a duct tape water bottle and a galaxy tote bag to hold all my gear.

img_1088

3. Cozy Sweetheart

This look is for days when you do not feel like doing anything at all but want to stay warm and stylish. For this look I used a heavy Bluenotes knit sweater over a solid magenta tank top from Old Navy and a pair of super-warm leggings that were also from Bluenotes. I threw on a necklace from Ardene, but any necklace you have, or even no necklace will work just fine. If you are just lounging about, you can go barefooted, but if you are going out, i would recommend a pair of knee-high boots.

That’s my fall fashion advice! Stay tuned as I will be posting more fashion advice soon. And I mean really soon. If you would like to see more fashion advice posts, just press the like button down where the comment section is. DIY Potato Chip Bag Tote!

Hey guys! How was your Halloween? I hit the Starburst jackpot! So. How many of you got bags of potato chips or popcorn for Halloween? I’m going to guess that a lot of you did. Here is a way to re purpose your potato chip bags.

You will need a potato chip bag and duct tape.

Step One. Cut your potato chip bag open. Use duct tape to refine the edges.

Step Two. Connect the sides with duct tape and place a strip over the sticky part inside. Do the same for the bottom.

Step Three. Cut and fold a piece of duct tape and cut in half. Fold so that it looks like the strap of a bag. Tape both ends down inside the bag. Repeat for the other side.

#LifeHack DIY Running headband

Who loves doing sports? Does anyone else find that if your hair is not fully secured, it always comes loose and messes up your sports life? I am trying to make sure that this does not happen to me during tomorrow’s Cross Country meet. Here is one of the easiest revamps possible that is so much of a #LifeHack that it will leave you amazed!

You will need a slip wrap (Also known as Running Headband) and a permanent or fabric marker.

The Only Step: Lay your slip wrap out flat. Choose a phrase. I chose “Sweet but Psycho” and ended up accidentaly spelling it wrong (phsyco!), which just adds to how sweet but psycho I am. Write your phrase on the slip wrap and flaunt it for everyone to see.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this awesome life hack for sports. If you would like me to write more #LifeHack posts, please leave a like. If you would like to view the #LifeHack collection, click here. Be sure to click the follow button on the homepage so that you do not miss any of my DIYs. Hopefully blogging again soon.
